He is doing well financially right now and can afford to upgrade to a LCD HDTV along with all the other components like the Blue Ray DVD player and wireless surround sound speakers. When he's done, he'll have at least $2,000 in it, but it's well worth it to him. He works so hard and having good home theater components for him to enjoy when he's at home means a lot to him. He's not a big movie watcher, but he loves car racing and other sports. He could go to NASCAR events but noise and air pollution is too much for him. Having home theater components that shows the event nearly as real as the event itself is something that none of us could dream of years ago. The playback quality and the sound are awesome with good home theater components. And the equipment doesn't take up that much space anymore, either. He can wall mount the television and the speakers are wireless, so vacuuming won't be an issue, either.
